Spring Break Activities in Old Montreal

Every year, Spring Break is the perfect occasion to enjoy some family time. If you’re looking for things to do, the establishments of Old Montreal have thought of you and offer many activities to enjoy with your children from February 29th to March 7th.

Journey to Space — Montreal Science Centre

Why not take a trip to space with the Montreal Science Centre during the holidays? If your children are fascinated by stars and astronauts, they will undoubtedly love this new interactive exhibition that allows you to put yourself in the shoes of an astronaut for an afternoon and discover their daily life. A must for all the curious little ones!

In addition, as part of an initiative to raise funds for the Tel-Jeunes Foundation, the Vieux-Port Steakhouse and Maggie Oakes restaurants are offering a $2 meal for children under the age of 12 upon presentation of proof of admission from the Montreal Science Centre.

Gourmand workshops — Académie Culinaire

Enjoy a privileged family moment thanks to the cooking lessons of Académie Culinaire! On February 29th, come team up with your child and take part in a workshop to learn the secret behind the making of cupcakes and cake pops which are delicacies that children absolutely love. Moreover, the macaron-making workshop on March 7th is the perfect event to end the holidays on a happy note. Don’t wait too long because the spots are limited!

A Trip to Peru — Pointe-à-Callière Museum

This year for spring break, the Pointe-à-Callière Museum is partnering with the SDC Old-Montreal to bring exceptional activities to the neighbourhood! As part of their exhibition “Incas, Treasures of Peru”, come meet alpacas from La vie en Alpaga farm, which is also offering activities outside of the museum where you can learn more about this fascinating animal and the wool it produces. You will also have the opportunity to discover many workshops, as well as enjoy the relaxation zone around the fire at Place Royal!

Get Your Hands Dirty — Château Ramezay

If the whole family loves bread, come learn more about the ins-and-outs of baking at Château Ramezay, welcoming you from March 1st to 7th for their bread-making workshops. Please note that the museum will be open to the public on Monday, March 2nd! It’s the perfect opportunity to discover the exhibition “Those We Met” to learn about traditional indigenous knowledge and the Franklin expedition.
