Nuit Blanche: The Old Montreal Program

10 venues and no fewer than 14 activities to experience and enjoy will be featured from east to west across the historic quarter for this 21st edition of the Montreal Nuit Blanche. Follow the guide and discover what awaits you in the “Pôle Vieux-Montréal” this coming March 2 under the theme “What’s your creative fantasy?”

Café Viger - Our Environmental Dream

FREE - 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Attend 3 conferences dealing with questions surrounding our relationship with the environment as well as possible solutions for a shared and more harmonious future:

10:15 p.m.: Learning to live together on a damaged planet

11:45 p.m.: Finding green building solutions and engaging in a thoughtful creative process

1:15 a.m.: “What will we do? A night on Earth”

Enjoy two one-hour-long concerts between conferences performed by jazz groups noted for their engaging lyrics and influences stemming from nature and the environmental issues facing us:

10:40 p.m.: Mari Sild Muusika ja Mõtted

12:10 a.m.: Unfinished Basements

Château Ramezay - Genealogy Night

FREE - 7 p.m. to midnight

Seasoned genealogists are ready to take you back in time at the Château Ramezay! Take advantage of this night to shed some light on an important part of your family’s history, leave with your own personalized ancestry chart and, no doubt… the desire to continue with your research!

The Old Port Skating Rink - La Grande Roue - Illumination

FREE - 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

La Grande Roue de Montréal promises to light up the night with a dazzling display of colour and sound!

Old Port Skating Rink - Nordic Magic

PAID - Reservation recommended - 9 p.m, 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.

And what if you could skate on the aurora borealis? This is the dreamlike experience you’re invited to live this Nuit Blanche at the Old Port Skating Rink! While lasers beam out some truly impressive visuals all around you, glide along to contemporary Inuit music, courtesy of Katia Makdissi-Warren, and find yourself transported to “the mystical lands of the Far North”.

Montréal Science Centre - Nuit Blanche at the Montréal Science Centre

FREE - 6:30 p.m. to midnight

This is your chance to visit or revisit some of the Science Centre’s soon-to-close temporary exhibitions: Inspiring Nature, Inspired Techno - Biomimicry and Transport, as well as The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards Exhibition. Whether you’re a little curious or a whole lot intrigued, this is the perfect place to feed your dreams!

It will also be possible to see The Great List of Everything on the Imax Telus screen in partnership with the NFB, a humoristic series about the objects in our daily life.

Notre-Dame Basilica - The AURA Experience

FREE and PAID - Reservation required - 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.

This spectacle of light and sound, the success of which cannot be denied, will also be dazzling audiences during the Nuit Blanche. To mark this cultural event, a limited quantity of tickets will be available for free (first come, first served), after which tickets will be available for a cost of $25.

Palais des Congrès - The Nuit Blanche at the Palais

FREE - 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.

With its playful photo booths, musical bikes, as well as a variety of beverage tastings, the Palais will be hosting a royal good time to celebrate what promises to be a Nuit Blanche bursting with colour. Come and immerse yourself in this multisensory experience, and “let your creative imagination soar”!

Palais des Congrès - Dreaming Asia

FREE - Reservation required - 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.

This 30-minute activity takes you on a journey to Asia and into the past for a unique and immersive experience not to be missed. The excerpt presented for the Nuit Blanche, “Dream of the Floating World”, is “an ode to the avant-garde of the great masters of Japanese printmaking”. The organizers also promise a number of surprises throughout the course of the evening, so make sure to reserve in advance!

Pointe-à-Callière Museum - A Night on the River & The Heart and Soul of Saint-Henri

FREE - 7 p.m. to midnight

With A Night on the River, get on board for artistic performances linked to the history of the great St. Lawrence! Aroussen Gros-Louis will “bring Indigenous traditions to life through her dances”, while the Brise-Glace group promises to enchant with their renditions of traditional Quebecois and Breton sea songs.

The exhibition on display in the Saint-Henri neighbourhood is also accessible during the Nuit Blanche, a wonderful opportunity to discover this beloved and unique corner of Montreal!

Pointe-à-Callière Museum (Maison-des-marins Pavilion) - The St. Lawrence River, Echoes from the Shores

FREE - 7 p.m. to midnight

Take advantage of the last days of this exhibition to discover the St. Lawrence through “10 fascinating, multisensory zones''. River of transport, leisure, environment, war and supply, the stories of this legendary waterway will be flowing freely under the glittering stars of a cultural night to remember!

PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art - The Plateaux of Mirror

FREE - 8 p.m. to midnight

In the mood for a pyjama party at the museum? Then this is where you need to be! Five 45-minute performances will be presented over the course of this event, during which “sonic landscapes, snacks and herbal teas will be provided”. Also, guests are encouraged “to bring pillows, blankets and comfy accessories” for maximum cozy enjoyment.

Wishbone Art Gallery - Encadré

FREE - 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

If the Nuit Blanche has you in a festive mood or you’re looking for the perfect activity for you and your date to enjoy together, this chance to dance among illuminated paintings is sure to be a dream come true! “As night falls, the artwork lights up, creating an atmosphere that is both enchanting and evocative of fantasy”.

PHI Centre - Foire Fantastique

FREE - 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Immerse yourself in a fantastical world where organizers promise a thousand and one nights summed up in a single eclectic evening featuring “a traveling fair, with strange characters, enchanting sounds”.

Good to know: the STM, proud partner of the Nuit Blanche, will keep the metro running all night long, with 3 stations servicing Old Montreal:

Champs-de-Mars, Place d’Armes and Square Victoria-OACI.
