The district’s pedestrian roads are being covered with a thin white blanket, so its officially time to resurrect your holiday spirit and live the Christmas magic to the fullest. Come on down to Old Montreal and bask in the historical district’s magical ambiance. Here are the activities and events for all – you won’t want to miss out on them!

Choralies de la Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours

Celebrate Christmas with the gift of song! From December 2 to 23, 2017, your favourite Christmas carols will echo though Montréal’s oldest chapel. The Choralies of the Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours Chapel are bound to instil in you the magic of the holidays Saturdays and Sundays from 1:30 to 5:00PM.

Family Activities at the Château Ramezay

As of December 2, come enjoy a host of special activities for the whole family this holiday season! Whether its Christmas cards, stockings or Advent calendars, they have what you need! By the way, do you know about the origin of Advent calendars? Come learn more about Christmas traditions with the "Around the fireplace... holidays tradition" activity.

The Château invites people of all ages to participate in its “Breadmaking Workshop.” Come bake and taste some delicious desert bread, made New-France style!

Come check out “Hang your stocking!” where you’ll be able to hang a Christmas stocking around one of the Château’s fireplaces and retrieve it in the New Year. Who knows what Santa Claus could have put inside them? Careful! This activity is reserved for kids on the nice list!

Finally, come by the Place d’Armes, the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Place Jacques-Cartier which will all be specially emblazoned this holiday season.

This tour is offered Saturdays all December long and Fridays, December 22 and 29. You can also make plans for private tours all year long, subject to tour availability.

Old Montreal celebrates with choir performances

The SDC Vieux-Montréal, in collaboration with Choir Alliance Québec, is proud to announce a series of musical performances which will take place outdoors Saturday afternoons, from November 11 to December 23 inclusively. A total of 13 choirs from all over the province will serenade you with musical repertoires rooted in Québécois and French traditions, as well as a host of Christmas carols.

These performances will take place Saturday afternoons from 3PM to 4PM : on the Place d’Armes and on the Place Jacques Cartier
