A Peek into the World Press Photo – de la Commune Street West

The World Press Photo Montreal will be holding its’ outdoor exhibit again this summer and fall!

While you wait for the official exhibit in the Bonsecours Market at the end of August, you can come see 12 photographs on de la Commune Street West.

The Old Montreal SDC presents this event where you can come and admire photos taken from the “La promesa” series by photographer Irina Werning, based out of Buenos Aires.

This series follows a young Argentinian woman through portraits that illustrates the impact of Covid on the life of youth and their education, how this period changed them, and what they lost. Twelve year old Antonella made a vow to only cut her hair once she can finally return to school, as an important identity marker that underlines this change and transition…
