Visions Hip-Hop QC

11.02.2022 – 26.03.2022

From February 11 to March 27, come discover the exhibition Visions Hip-Hop QC at the Phi Centre. Featuring 20 original artworks, Afro-contemporary artist Marven Clerveau will take you through a visual and audio journey to discover the artists and figures that have marked Quebec's unique hip-hop scene. Curated by music historian and author Vladimir Delva, each painting in the exhibition reflects these individuals' atypical journeys through hip-hop and their entrepreneurial, artistic, educational, and professional evolution.

With audio stories produced by Gayance accompanying the installation, visitors can listen to the artists share their narratives and experiences in Quebec's hip-hop movement. In addition to the exhibition, there will be a series of ancillary events, including creative workshops for youth, paneled discussions, and an inter-generational music show on the evening of Nuit Blanche, featuring influential front-runners and emerging talent.
