Pathway 1: Yayoi Kusama

Pathway 1: Yayoi Kusama

06.07.2022 – 31.07.2022

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of Centre PHI and the fifteenth anniversary of the PHI Foundation, the three PHI entities (Centre PHI, PHI Foundation, and Studio PHI) have gathered to offer a series of summer event pathways. Through them, you’ll be able to discover contemporary and digital works of art through unique and varied programming.

Pathway 1: Yayoi Kusama 1 gives you access to the complete 45-minute long Yayoi Kusama exhibit, DANCING LIGHTS THAT FLEW UP TO THE UNIVERSE. This exhibit concludes with a magic display of suspended lanterns that flash different colours and blink out. After, you can visit the public engagement project compiled by the artists of the Doux Soft Club: bleu de lieu. This project invites visitors to “rest, meditate, and interact with the project’s different elements”. To wrap up this first pathway of activities, take yourself to Centre PHI to take advantage of some free programming. This summer, the experimental documentary INVERSE will be presented in three parts, and sets out to question the predominant assimilation of 2SLGBTQIA+ identities.
