25.11.2022 – 08.01.2023
Outfitted with Adirondack chairs and Christmas decorations planned by the talented Chantal Leroyer, the outdoor space surrounding Place Royale will immediately put visitors in a holiday mood!
You will find a wooden kiosk, reminiscent of the interior of a winter cottage, which will host a Christmas decoration with fir branches, Christmas mistletoe and a large wreath. This year, the theme will be winter sports, a nice reference to the skating rink in the Old Port and to field hockey, a sport very popular with Montrealers.
You will also find the Christmas village from December 26 to 30 where Pointe-à-Callière will put on its classic show “Who is the Real Santa Claus?”, introducing special characters Melchior, Babouchka, Santa Clause, and Pascual, a new Father Christmas from Ecuador tradition. These charming characters will present their interpretation of the Santa Clause legend across the world in turn, inside a huge igloo.
The Old Montreal SDC is proud to support this program of free family activities.
