Kusama: Infinity

01.09.2022 – 30.09.2022

Watch the documentary Kusama: Infinity, covering the life and works of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama presented online for free by the PHI Foundation and the International Art Film Festival.

Yayoi Kusama left Japan the day after the end of the Second World War for America in order to devote herself to her artistic creation. Upon her arrival in New York, she climbed to the top of the Empire State Building and decided then that she would set herself apart from all those below her. Now we can safely say that she’s since met her goal, becoming known the world over for her art. Learn about the journey this artist took during the 1960’s as Andy Warhol’s rival and how she became known for her immersive and impressive creations, like the room of infinite mirrors.

The film is shown in English and Japanese with English subtitles.
