JeremyShaw:PhaseShiftingIndex
The Fonderie Darling hosts an immersive video installation presented by the Musée d'art contemporain of Montréal, inviting you to explore little-known artistic and sensory territories with the exhibition "Phase Shifting Index" by artist Jeremy Shaw.
This installation, projected onto seven screens, features archival images of movement therapy groups from the 60s to the 90s. Shaw's work "draws attention to the gap between the timeless notion of transcendence and scientific attempts to explain, locate and define it."
This artistic experience gives you the chance to view the screens individually or as a whole from an elevated platform. You'll contemplate docufictions combined with choreography, visual effects, music and other elements invoking movement therapy. The result of this visual journey culminates in the video of a dance in which the participants move together in a spellbinding way.
