5 September 2024 to 6 October 2024

The exhibition Gyre showcases the intuitive and innovative work of Montreal artist Catherine Morin, who explores modern themes through ancient symbols like the ouroboros, while incorporating everyday objects into her pieces.

Morin finds in painting a creative refuge where she questions our relationship with the objects and materials that surround us. Fascinated by the malleability and fragility of ceramics, she incorporates them into her paintings to symbolize the connection between creation and destruction. For her, the term "gyre" represents this perpetual cycle of transformation, found both in ocean currents and in our relationship with material goods.

This exhibition invites the public to reflect on disconnection and interconnection in our modern world, while celebrating the beauty of the artistic and material processes that shape our daily lives.
