24.02.2022 – 08.01.2023
In 2022, The Pointe-à-Callière Museum is celebrating its 30 year anniversary, as well as Montréal’s 380th in spring, and this is a great opportunity to look back to the past and explore our favourite memories, all while creating new reasons to celebrate.
More than 400 fastidiously presented objects – furniture, clothing, jewellery, toys, tools, books, cards, posters, and iconography – have been taken from the vaults to tell the tales of the Montreal of today and yesterday.
Montrealers at heart, by birth, or by location: this exhibition is for you. It weaves a rich and complete tapestry of our metropolis across the big events in its history, like Expo 67 and the Olympic Games, as well as portraits of its business and artistic communities, its economic organizations, and its multicultural richness.
That said, this exhibit isn’t just focused on the past, as the museum explains: “Complete with contemporary perspectives, this living and multi-fold mosaic of touching portraits of our countrymen will be rounded out by testimony from archeologists, historians, and other specialists.”
At once a voyage through time, documentary exhibit, and celebration of Montreal, you can test your knowledge with quizzes, interactive games, and surprise boxes to put a nice punctuation mark to the day!
