As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, DHC/ART Foundation for Contemporary Art is pleased to present a new solo exhibition, Bill Viola: Naissance à rebours.With a career now spanning forty years, Bill Viola is recognized internationally as one of the most important artists of our time. His work across single channel video, video installation, sound environments, electronic music performances, and broadcast television deeply examines the universal themes of life, death, the unfolding of consciousness, the spirit, and human connection. His 2014 exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris attracted 300,000 visitors. Recent exhibitions include Yorkshire Sculpture Park, United Kingdom, the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., and a major retrospective at the Guggenheim/Bilbao.This exhibition (DHC/ART’s 26th) will feature a selection of works from the 2000s, including monitor works from the Mirage and Transfigurationsseries, and Inverted Birth (2015), one of his most recent monumental projections. A program of events including an evening of screenings of selected single channel works will accompany this very special exhibition.Organized in collaboration with the Bill Viola Studio.
