Move over winter, Spring Break is back! From fun activities for young and old to delighting the senses with Montréal en Lumière, Old Montreal has everything you need to make this one a break to remember.

Activities the whole family will love

Break out your broomsticks (March 1-7)

Calling all aspiring wizards and witches! Come and learn about the spellcasting arts and maybe even earn your wizarding diploma through a series of educational magical challenges at the Pointe-à-Callière’s School of Sorcery. (Harry Potter movie marathon included, of course.)

Story time for all with La Lutinerie (March 1-2, 8-9)

For some imagination transportation, head to Place Jacques-Cartier where costumed storytellers from a bygone era whisper fantastical tales into your ear. And twice daily, let yourself be carried away by the master raconteur's incredible stories full of emotion, full of wonder.

Yummy science (Until March 16)

The Montreal Science Center is donning its chef’s apron once again with Banquet, an interactive exhibition dedicated to the science and history behind our food. Don’t miss this mouthwatering multi-sensory experience created to bring out your inner culinary scientist.

Coureurs des bois, chez Ramezay (March 2 - 9)

A family voyage of discovery awaits you this Spring Break at Château Ramezay! Complete challenging tasks while learning about the colonial-era fur trade, and try your hand at traditional arrow belt weaving while making your own decorative keepsake. History and fun all in one!

Mission: Illusion

Come bewilder and bend your brain at Montreal’s new Museum of Illusions. Immerse yourself in this edutainment experience like no other, featuring illusion rooms, images and installations all designed to puzzle your perception while reminding you that nothing is quite as it seems.

Gifts for the eyes and ears

Tribute to Riopelle (Nuit Blanche, March 1)

To experience the magic of Montréal en Lumière in all its colour, head to the corner of McGill and St-Maurice, where a dazzling outdoor projection of the works of legendary Quebecois artist, Jean-Paul Riopelle, will be illuminating the cityscape for one night only.

Brilliant sounds (Feb 13 - May 4)

Take a one-of-a-kind audio/visual trip at Phi Centre with MIXTAPE, a series of installations and immersive soundscapes that explore the role of mixtapes on late Montreal filmmaker Jean-Marc Vallée’s creative path from inspiration to silver screen.

Night magic at the chapel (Nuit Blanche, March 1)

Heavenly voices and sparkling views await you this Nuit Blanche at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours! Climb to the Belvedere for a dazzling Old Port panorama, then let Ensemble Vocal À ContreVoix enchant with the works of great Canadian composers in this historic chapel like no other.
