As a business established in Old Montreal – the historic district or one of its two faubourgs (Faubourg Québec or Faubourg des Récollets) – we are pleased to count you among the members of the Old Montreal Commercial Development Corporation (Société de développement commerciale – SDC – du Vieux-Montréal). About Your SDC

Mission and Fields of Activity

The primary mandate of the SDC is to bring together its members and create a unified business community. It is committed to working tirelessly went it comes to sharing ideas, addressing common issues, finding realistic solutions, and creating a living and working environment where good neighbourliness prevails. The more participative the SDC is, the more influential it becomes as an organization dedicated to local economic development.

Another key mandate of the SDC Vieux-Montréal is to ensure the promotion and enhancement of the historic district's offerings. Its focus is on fostering healthy relationships with the local business community (workers and companies) as well as with its residents. Finally, to generate a positive visitor experience in the district, the SDC Vieux-Montréal invests in making the area more welcoming, actively supporting attractions and social and/or cultural events that highlight the distinctive character of Old Montreal, while also reflecting its heritage and historical aspect.

Territory

The territory of the SDC Vieux-Montréal extends from Saint-Hubert (eastern limit) to Robert-Bourassa (western limit), and from Saint-Antoine (northern limit) to De la Commune (southern limit). 

*The Old Port of Montreal is a distinct territory located south of De la Commune Street.

Write to us at [email protected] to inform us of your arrival in the neighborhood or to update information on your profile: see the online directory.

→ Who should I contact regarding my annual SDC contribution account?

  • SDC contribution accounts are sent to the occupant operating the business establishment on January 1st of each year via their municipal tax account.
    *When the occupant ceases activities during the year, there is no refund of the contribution.
  • For any questions regarding the amount of your contribution, its calculation, or billing, you should contact the Finance Department of the City of Montreal. To do this, you can call 311 or 514-872-0311 if you are calling from outside the island of Montreal.
