Old Montreal Cleanliness Program
Following a survey conducted among its members in late summer 2025, the SDC Vieux-Montréal identified several operational issues that came up repeatedly as shared concerns. Among the themes that emerged, cleanliness stood out as a priority. In 2026, the SDC Vieux-Montréal therefore launched this new program to reinforce the cleanliness initiatives already deployed across the district by the Ville-Marie borough teams, while maximizing dedicated service for the area. Response times for reported issues are thus to be improved, and neighbourhood brigade coverage enhanced – notably through the pooling of local resources.
Optimizing collaboration across the community
With the goal of building a collective force, the SDC is encouraging the development of new internal operational practices while strengthening the protocol shared with key stakeholders already active in the neighbourhood. The Old Montreal Cleanliness Program draws on the contributions of multiple partners – including municipal services, private contractors and community allies – across a range of complementary areas of focus, each responding to specific priorities in the historic quarter.
