WHAT TO DO WITH THE KIDS

Château Ramezay: Let’s roll some dough!

VARIABLE RATES - every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Château invites you to come and make bread with your little apprentice bakers this Spring Break! Even if they don’t discover their future vocation or find themselves with a freshly baked passion, this is the perfect recipe for your time off together: sharing a culinary experience surrounded by history, not just hungry, but hungry for knowledge!

Good to know: Once you’re there, be sure to take advantage of two fun activities the museum has planned for its young visitors. “Play the Museum Curator” and “Dress Up in 18th-Century Fashion!” are included in the price of a ticket, giving kids the opportunity to live a cultural experience that is truly for them.

Pointe-à-Callière: Activities both fun and free!

FREE - 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., from March 2 to 9

Thanks to the Pointe-à-Callière museum’s daily calendar of activities, you’ll have the opportunity to entertain your little buccaneers every day throughout this Spring Break. At the Place Royale, directly in front of the Pointe-à-Callière, visitors are invited to discover and enjoy a variety of informative entertainment, interactive games and instructional activities inspired by the museum’s ongoing exhibitions “The St. Lawrence River, Echoes from the Shores” and “Come Aboard! Pirates or Privateers?”.

The SDC Vieux-Montréal is proud to support this program of free activities for families as part of the Old Montreal Cultural Offering Support Program.

PHI Centre: The sound that ice makes

$25 in advance or $30 on the day of the event - 5:30 p.m., March 9

Ice” is an immersive audio/visual experience that explores the processes involved in the formation of icicles, conceived and developed in collaboration by an artist, a physicist and a composer. The PHI Centre is a veritable artistic gold mine for the curious, those aesthetes and minds that love to explore the essential questions that we (sometimes) forget to take the time to ask, and this little break from it all is the perfect occasion to do just that.

Good to know: This activity is intended for all ages.

Montréal Science Centre: Spring Break Alley

FREE - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from March 2 to 10

For Spring Break, the Science Centre is offering visitors an all-in-one deal: exhibitions, games and relaxation! After catching an IMAX presentation or visiting one of the centre’s amazing exhibitions, take a little time-out in “Spring Break Alley”, via the Passerelle-Perspective. This indoor space features an illuminated table with colourful building blocks, tents, a magnetic sand table, as well as plenty of other facilities made for play. Also included is a relaxation area with Adirondack chairs, bean bags and a reading corner, perfect for those looking to really unwind.

Good to know: There is a catering service available that sells sandwiches, but feel free to bring your own snacks to enjoy on site.

Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historic Site: Digging in the future

FREE for children 12 and under. This activity complements the purchase of a ticket for a visit to the museum. Children must be accompanied by an adult. March 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, 2024 at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm.

In 1,000 years' time, how will we look back on 2024 and our daily lives? This is the unique experience offered by the Marguerite Bourgeoys Historic Site. ‘’It's the year 3024, and Montreal is buried under waste. Your role as archaeologists is to embark on the discovery of this lost civilization. ‘’Guides lead an excavation workshop in bins filled with 20th-century artifacts to provide an overview of the archaeologist's profession. The activity concludes with a visit to our archaeological site where the work of archaeologists has revealed the remains of Montreal's first stone chapel.Good to know: This is an ideal opportunity to visit the temporary exhibition "Noah's Ark" by Claude Lafortune, which closes on March 17.Reservations: Digging in the future | MTL Museums

WHAT TO DO WITH THE TEENS

PHI Centre: Augmented reality to turn back time

VARIABLE RATES - from Wednesday to Sunday until April 28

Colored: The Unknown Life of Claudette Colvin” makes use of augmented reality to immerse visitors in the life of this pioneer and icon of the civil rights movement in segregationist Alabama, a woman who refused to give up her place on the bus a few months before Rosa Parks.

Good to know: This activity is intended for visitors 13 years and older and lasts 40 minutes.

Bota Bota: The Spring Break Pirates Layover is back!

VARIABLE RATES - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., March 4 to 9

Wanna be the coolest parent around? Enjoy relaxing moments with your teenager while they discover the benefits of Nordic baths, thanks to Bota Bota spa’s educational mornings, which include the water circuit as well as an optional activity.

Good to know: The Pirates Layover is intended for adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, accompanied by a parent.

Guidatour: A private tour to thrill you with legends of Old Montreal

VARIABLE RATES: as of 6:30 p.m., according to reservation

Since it’s not just onscreen that stories can give us the shivers, captivate or make us laugh, Guidatour and its passionate guides have made it their mission as much as their pleasure to offer organized tours of Old Montreal under the theme “Traditional Ghost Walk”, as well as “Ghost Scavenger Hunt” for larger groups.

Good to know: Renowned for their team-building expertise, Guidatour will definitely make this an ideal and memorable activity for your family, an experience suited for children 10 years and older.
