With the return of nicer weather comes more people opting for carryout! And Old Montreal has fallen in love with its many establishments that offer “street food”-style takeout counters that doubtless could have impressed Bourdain!

These four restaurants are offering quick food on the go every weekend starting around noon. Come pick up your order, and you’re off on another adventure! Walk toward the riverside and enjoy summer to its fullest. Note: this is in effect for weekends only, and only during the summer!

Here is the menu of what each has to offer:

  • Maggie Oakes: popcorn shrimp, burgers, salads, poutine, fries, nachos, desserts, and more
  • Nelli: sandwiches, salads, pastries, iced coffee, iced tea, homemade lemonade, and beer

Le Bonaparte: Gastronomy To Go

Including dishes such as mushroom ravioli, popcorn snails with tartar sauce, chocolate mousse, wild game terrine or smoked salmon sandwiches, and poutine topped with rabbit confit and red wine sauce, le Bonaparte has revisited its classics to come up with their Express Menu to “sample while seeing Old Montreal”, as stated in their recent publication. As for us, we’re getting hungry just reading the names of the dishes!

The Express Menu is available Wednesday to Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a limited time!

Slice and Soda: Good All Year Round

Even if their huge pizza slices are available year-round, we could not resist putting them on our list of takeaway food.

Their pizza and soda combo (yup, Slice & soda, exactly what you’d expect) is $9.95 for a large slice and one of their house sodas. The Bocconcini basilic and a yakuza is our go-to order, and you can add a Caesar salad for only $4 more.

Slice and soda is “always at your fingertips”, as their slogan goes!
