Giving the Gift of Culture

Giving the Gift of Culture

Do you have a seasoned art-lover in your group of friends or family? Or maybe you would simply like to share your passion for the arts? Then this address book was made just for you!

Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal Archaeology and History Complex – Serigraphs and Membership Cards

Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal Archaeology and History Complex recently put some magnificent serigraphs from three artists: LeBicar, Aless Mc, and Franco Égalité. These exclusive works of art were created specifically for the fundraising campaign for Pointe-à-Callière’s group La Relève. Plus, with the purchase of a $100 serigraph, you will receive a tax receipt of $70. It’s a great way to support the museum.

You can also gift a 1 or 2 year membership to the Pointe-à-Callière Museum. There are several types of memberships, including the Adult + One Guest Pass ($85 or $145), and the Family Pass (2 adults and a maximum of 3 children under 17 for $85 and $145), for example. The great thing about this kind of gift is that it allows you to spend some quality time with whomever you give it to. Also good to know: all memberships to the museum are 25% off through December 31st!

Centre Phi – A Unique Experience

Centre Phi has made its name as a cultural hub and multidisciplinary art destination that fosters all aspects of creation, elaboration, production, and communication. And now they are offering you the chance to have a virtual reality experience at home thanks to PHI VR TO GO. More than just a gift, this is an extraordinary experience you can give to a close friend or family that will make their holidays simply magical!

Blanche Gallery – A Visit in Good Company

If a member of your family holds a particular interest in contemporary art, look no further than a visit to Blanche Gallery! This gallery on Saint-Paul Street West continually displays contemporary artwork by Canadian artists. Visit their website for information on their upcoming expositions. Just find a nice card, and include the message “I’m offering the gift of my company and a visit” – giving and experiencing quality time with a loved one is a priceless gift!

Beauchamp Gallery – Works of Art

Whether you’re more into abstract styles, contemporary works, or even photography, there’s something for all tastes at Beauchamp Gallery. Between the characters of Aramys and those from the famous Zïlon, you’ve got an entire alphabet of possibilities!

Gallery LeRoyer – Sculptures

For modern and original artwork, head over to Gallery LeRoyer! Since 1995, Brian Brisson, first with Gallery Saint-Dizier and later on with Gallery LeRoyer, has focused his energies to showing new talent and remarkable works to the public. We particularly love the sculptures crafted by Fidia Falaschetti and Eric Lapointe (No, not the singer!).

Galerie Bloom - A Canvas From Home

Art gallery Bloom highlights well-known Canadian artists, carefully chosen for their artistic process, their originality, and the quality of their work. A nice option for a personalized gift you can give to others… or even to yourself! To receive your artwork in time for Christmas, order between now and December 4th. Plus, delivery is free!

New 2020 Galleries in the Neighbourhood to Discover

Le HangArt

One of the main goals of Le HangArt gallery, located at 216 Notre-Dame West, is to make art accessible and to ensure the promotion of local artists. A wonderful selection of art is available for purchase, like the sublime animals from Hélène Paquin or characters of the Disney universe revisited by Sophie Lou. There are even several works available at workshop prices; they’ve certainly kept to their promise of accessible art!

Gallery S16

Located at 377 Saint-Paul Street West, Gallery S16 regularly holds some of the most interesting expositions around that are well worth the detour; keep an eye on their social media to stay up to date with their upcoming expos. Among the vast selection of artists they feature in their gallery, our favourite was Craig Alan and his prints. Between Marilyn and Superman, our heart was well-balanced!

N.B.: Would you like your business on this list for the holidays? Don’t hesitate to write to us at info@sdcvieuxmontreal.com, and we will be happy to include it.
