Maison Pepin: come and see!

Maison Pepin: come and see!

Already 20 years ago, Lysanne Pepin set up Espace Pepin in the Old-Montreal. Since then, she also established the Pepin Shop and Cour Pepin (a cute little alley where the decorations change depending on the seasons and the events). Lysanne is a multidisciplinary artist: bags, home décor, paintings, interior design, cottage.... In her eponymous shops, you will find many pieces of her creation but also articles that were carefully selected such as: beautiful wallpapers, ceramics or about 300 different clothing lines from Quebec, Europe and the Scandinavian countries. “I like to evolve in the middle of beautiful and high-quality objects, furniture or clothes with a timeless cut, so I always pick all the products we sell with care”.

And this love that the artist and founder holds for beautiful things is noticeable everywhere at the Pepin Shop; It’s not surprising that many tourists and visitors fill their Instagram or Facebook feed with pictures taken there or in the little alley nearby. And since the presentation of the shops constantly changes, it’s best to pay them a visit often if you want to discover beautiful items and get inspired by this place that seems outside of time. Besides, if you want to recreate this unique atmosphere, this “Pepin vibe”, at home or at work, it’s possible thanks to their team of brilliant designers that includes two interior designers and one botanical designer.

The path of this artist is far from monotone and unidirectional: “Lysanne loves the world. She loves life. She doesn’t have a guideline, it’s more like a constant firework of ideas!” says Genevieve who has been the communication manager at Pepin for 7 years now. And this brand, Genevieve knows it by heart: “The Pepin Shop is like my home!”. It’s with a lot of enthusiasm that she told us about this “laboratory of artistic projects” that the Pepin Shop is. There are full of creative projects and here is what they have planned for this summer: summer Mondays in collaboration with YogaTribes (yoga sessions, immersive meditation in the inner courtyard) and Berber brunches in collaboration with The Boho Lab and the restaurant La Khaïma. You want a little sneak peek of what they have planned for this Fall at the Pepin Shop? Get ready for the return of their discovery workshops to learn more about organic wines with their partner Le Vin dans les Voiles!

Of course, luxury products come with a high cost but for the artist, it’s sort of like an investment: “When you buy something that has history and intention, even if the cost is higher, you keep it longer and you are rewarded with high-quality as well.” It’s a great way to bring art into your home so that you can enjoy it every day. However, it’s also possible for people on a tight budget to find a little something to bring back home from Lysanne’s shops; She has a large range of teas at very competitive prices and beautiful and useful little accessories such as cute mugs, candles or linen waters with nice fragrances.

Next time you’ll go in the Old-Montreal, come discover or rediscover this cute shop imagined by Lysanne Pepin. Her stores reflect perfectly the historical neighbourhood of Montreal!
