Up Close

As part of the CINEMANIA Festival, in collaboration with the PHI Centre, discover the world premiere of the exhibition Up Close. This photo exhibition is a complete overview of the work of Fabrizio Maltese, portrait photographer and documentary filmmaker.

Fabrizio reclaims some of his photos that have been highly publicized to make them take the "reverse path of the photographic process" to make them unique. This exhibition was born of a reflection on the hyper-distribution, hypermediatization and hyper-consumption of images that circulate in the media sphere. The photographer criticizes the evolution of technology that leads to a loss of control of celebrities regarding their image, as well as the difficulty of professional photographers to protect their content that is diffused in a massive way.

You will discover 20 works of the artist that he transforms and modifies in order to reclaim them. These unique pieces are printed with cyanotype tinted with green tea Yerba mate on fine art paper.

The entrance is free and you don't need to reserve.

This exhibition is presented with the support of the SDC Vieux-Montréal as part of the Programme de soutien à l'offre culturelle du Vieux-Montréal.
