In Roald Amundsen - Lessons from the Arctic, Château Ramezay takes us through the steps of the Norwegian adventurer who was the first white person to traverse the Northwest Passage at the beginning of the 20th century and, on a separate journey, reach the South Pole. Including exclusive photographs, log books, and original texts, this exhibit that was initially created by the Fram Museum in Oslo brings particular attention to Amundsen’s sejour among the Canadian Inuits whose ancestral knowledge proved crucial to the success of his famous expedition to the South Pole.
After having travelled to Norway, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, and Ontario, this exhibition is finally making its way to Montreal. Don’t miss it!
