PlayMas
The exhibition "Play Mas" is presented at the Fonderie Darling on the occasion of MOMENTA Biennale de l'image, a biannual event designed to showcase a diverse and accessible contemporary art program.
This exhibition "explores the issues of masquerade within a colonial context through the figure of Moko Jumbie, a god of fate in many West African cultures."
In the main hall of the Fonderie Darling, you can watch a video directed by Jeannette Ehlers in which Moko is incarnated as a zombie in the city of Copenhagen. Witness a body "play mas", a Trinidadian expression meaning that a person takes immense pleasure in playing at himself through masquerade.
