Nuns, Teachers AND... Scientists!

Nuns, Teachers AND... Scientists!

28.04.2022 – 10.04.2023

Women of science and the church? Yes! Quite ahead of their time, you can learn more about these women at the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historic Site. This new exhibit tells of how the Ursuline nuns and the congregation at Notre-Dame were pioneers in creating programs to teach science to their students!

And how have these teachers, since the 19th century, been able to pique girls’ interest in the domain that had so often been reserved for men? Boldness, methodology, and inspiration were key!

Through seeing various laboratory instruments, reading works from students, and listening to contemporary scientific evidence, this exhibit will assuredly stimulate the curiosity of visitors of all ages!
