28 April 2026 to 7 May 2026

The Montréal Design Week transforms the city into a true creative laboratory, and this year, Old Montréal and the Old Port emerge as major hubs of the program. Exhibitions, studio visits, architectural tours, heritage discoveries, and public installations come together to celebrate design, architecture, and creativity in all their forms, appealing to both professionals and enthusiasts alike.

A highlight of the week, the Index-Design Trade Show will take place on April 30, 2026, at the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal. Reserved for industry professionals, this flagship event brings together more than 70 local and international exhibitors and offers a unique opportunity to explore the trends, materials, and innovations shaping the design of today and tomorrow, in an iconic Old Port setting.

Ahead of the show, the Index-Design Conference Day on April 29, 2026, will gather influential voices from the worlds of design and architecture at the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. Among the speakers, Georges Coulombe, a key figure committed to the preservation of Montréal’s heritage and founding president of the SDC Vieux-Montréal, will share his expertise and vision for responsible urban development.

The district will also host official Design Week venues, including Ædifica architecture + design, which will open its offices to the public free of charge from April 28 to May 7 at 407 McGill Street, offering a behind-the-scenes look at its integrated approach to the built environment and human well-being.

Finally, as the event’s official hotel partner, SonoLux perfectly embodies the spirit of Montréal Design Week. With 36 rooms, 10 exhibition spaces, and its culinary venues LUMI and Subterra, SonoLux offers an experience where art, design, and travel intersect. Through immersive exhibitions and a sensitive approach to hospitality, the hotel invites visitors and professionals alike to explore design as a transformative experience, right in the heart of Old Montréal.

Rooted in historic settings yet driven by innovation, Montréal Design Week positions Old Montréal and the Old Port as must-visit destinations for experiencing contemporary creation from a fresh perspective.
