28.10.2022 – 28.10.2022
The study of cemeteries allows us to learn how "communities organize themselves, coexist and evolve". On this occasion, archaeologist Louise Pothier will talk about the secrets of the Montreal Catholic cemetery discovered in 1989, which contains 38 burials, twelve of which belong to Aboriginal people.
Historian Anna Sheftel will explain how one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Canada ended up in Ahuntsic, a predominantly French Canadian neighbourhood.
Enjoy discovering these historic places of memory.
