1 August 2023 to 31 August 2023

Archaeology Month runs throughout August, and you can enjoy it in Old Montréal. This 19th edition offers a wide range of activities to help you discover the richness of Quebec's historical and cultural heritage.

The Historical site Marguerite-Bourgeoys invites you on August 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 2 to 3 p.m. in front of the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours to handle replicas of everyday objects from the life of the colony's inhabitants in the days of New France, with an archaeologist from the Archéophone group.

Accompanied by guides from the Pointe-à-Callière Museum, discover the history of the St. Anne's Market archaeological site and the Parliament of the Province of Canada through two exhibitions in the former Fire Hall no. 1. The "Parliament Under Your Feet" and "Montréal Capital City" exhibitions are open free of charge Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Take part in a special mission at the Pointe-à-Callière Museum with Archeo-Adventure, using your children's powers of observation and manual dexterity to excavate the Museum floor and earn the rank of apprentice archaeologist on August 13 and 20, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
