CDC MEMBERSHIP FEE

The membership fee is compulsory for all members. Members must be fully paid up in order to be entitled to vote in corporation meetings.

The contribution is collected by the City of Montreal and entirely remitted to the board of directors of each of the corporations. With some rare exceptions, it is subject to both the GST and the QST.

The basis for calculating the fee is determined by each of the commercial corporation corporation (CDC). The model chosen by the members of the SDC Vieux-Montréal is based on the non-residential property value of the premises occupied by the business establishment.

The CDC contribution accounts are sent to the occupant operating the business establishment on the first day of the fiscal year, January 1. Even if the occupant ceases operations during the year, whether there is a move, reduction in floor space, or any other event during the fiscal year, the contributor remains liable for the duration of the fiscal year. There shall be no refund of any part of the contribution.

Where a member occupies in the same building, for the purposes of the same business establishment, more than one space subject to separate leases, the contribution shall be charged only once for all the spaces occupied by such member up to the maximum contribution amount set by the member's CDC.

When it comes to settling the payment, if the contribution is below $300, occupants must settle their accounts in a single payment. If it is $300 or more, the payment can be settled in two instalments.

For any questions regarding billing, requesting a payment agreement, processing a change of address or any change of occupant, please call 311 or 514 872-0311 if you are calling from outside the island of Montreal.

The chief mandate of SDC Vieux-Montréal consists in bringing all of its members together and setting up a unified business unit to upgrade, enhance and promote the district.
