21 November 2026 to 21 November 2026

On Saturday, November 21, Alliance Française de Montréal invites the public to a day dedicated to bold creativity, imagination and freedom of expression. Presented as part of Salon dans la Ville, the Osez! event features a cultural program that brings together visual arts, literature, poetry and the performing arts.

On the program: two creative workshops exploring different forms of artistic expression, followed by a vibrant cabaret to close out the day. An opportunity to discover new creative practices, let your imagination run free and meet artists from a variety of backgrounds.

Oser afficher nos émotions — Youth Workshop with Marie Barguirdjian

The day begins with a workshop for children aged 8 to 14, inviting them to explore their emotions through artistic creation. Inspired by the work of Marcelle Ferron, a prominent figure in Québec art, participants will discover how colours, shapes and gestures can become powerful forms of expression. They will then be encouraged to create their own artwork in an environment that fosters experimentation and imagination. This free activity takes place from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Souvenirs piochés — Illustrated Writing Workshop with Aurore Juin

In the afternoon, words and images take centre stage in a participatory workshop that transforms memories into collective creations. Each participant is invited to write down a personal memory before randomly selecting someone else's and bringing it to life through a visual interpretation. Combining writing and illustration, this activity offers an original way to share personal stories, discover the experiences of others and spark creativity. This free activity takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Cabaret Osez! — Hosted by Mia Love

To wrap up the day, starting at 8 p.m., Alliance Française de Montréal transforms into a cabaret stage for an evening where words come to life in countless ways. Hosted by Mia Love, Cabaret Osez! brings together artists from different disciplines for a performance combining drag, dance, poetry, improvisation and live performance art.

Artists Poppet the Doll, Dixie Détrique, Alain Mercieca, Alexandra Vakaloulis and Kélvin Théry will take turns on stage, reimagining stories, emotions and memories through original artistic performances. This festive evening celebrates creativity in all its forms and invites audiences to experience literature from a fresh perspective. Book your tickets online for $10 ($5 for members).
