Headintheclouds
This summer, the Marguerite-Bourgeoys Historic Site invites you to rise above the city with its new free activity series: Head in the clouds.
This special program, centered on artistic, musical, and wellness activities, comes to life on the belvedere of the Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel. With its spectacular 360° view of the city, the belvedere attracts a large number of visitors each year, both tourists and Quebecers alike.
Whether free or by reservation, these unique experiences offer a new way to (re)discover this exceptional heritage site—gently, musically, at sunrise or under the stars. Let yourself be carried away by a soothing and inspiring lineup:
Acoustic concerts – August 15 & 16 (7 PM – 10 PM)
Let the enchanting sounds of Lumine Egan (cello) and Mayu Egan (violin) transport you during two intimate and immersive concerts in a magical setting. Free admission, no reservation required.
Open belvedere evenings – August 22 & 23 (6 PM – 10 PM)
Enjoy a rare chance to take in the illuminated views of Old Montréal and the Old Port at dusk. Free admission, no reservation required.
Meditation sessions – August 23 & 24 (8 AM – 10 AM)
Take a mindful pause with Petra Canart, deep relaxation specialist, in a guided meditation using therapeutic Tibetan bowls inside the aerial chapel, followed by quiet reflection on the belvedere before the museum opens. Reservation required via Montreal Museums (15 participants per session).
Drawing workshops with Romain Blais – August 29 & 30 (8 AM – 10 AM)
Explore your personal interpretation of the historic district and Old Port in an open-air sketching session led by illustrator Romain Blais. Through light studies and landscape drawing, this workshop fosters creativity and celebrates the visual heritage of the neighborhood. Reservation required via Montreal Museums (15 participants per session).
A one-of-a-kind experience that blends heritage, creativity, and well-being—Head in the clouds offers a poetic and peaceful escape in the heart of the city.
The Head in the clouds activity series is presented with the support of the SDC Vieux-Montréal as part of the Programme de soutien à l'offre culturelle du Vieux-Montréal.
