Every summer, the SDC enhances the landscape of the historic neighbourhood with a range of bougainvillea decorative elements that extend across its emblematic streets. The fuchsia bougainvilleas and custom-designed street furniture installed in the emblematic Saint-Amable Alley have attracted thousands of visitors daily since 2018.

Building on the Saint-Amable Alley installation, a bougainvillea arch now marks the entrance to Saint-Dizier Alley on Saint-Paul Street West, creating an inviting decorative gateway that encourages passersby to explore. This new feature seamlessly complements the floral signature that has come to define the neighbourhood during the summer season.

Decorative spheres in the vibrant colours of the bougainvilleas, which have become a true summer signature of the area, are suspended from lampposts along Notre-Dame Street West, between Place d’Armes and Saint-Laurent Boulevard, as well as along Saint-Paul Street East and Notre-Dame Street East, between Saint-Claude Street, Place Jacques-Cartier, and Berri Street—extending the colourful and festive atmosphere throughout the heart of Old Montréal.
