26 December 2025 to 3 January 2026

This holiday season, Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal’s Archaeology and History Complex, transforms into a magical place with a variety of free family activities offered with Holidays on the Pointe.

This winter, Pointe-à-Callière transforms into a true Victorian-style holiday setting. The museum invites visitors of all ages to experience the magic of the season in an atmosphere inspired by the mysterious world of Sherlock Holmes: Cracking the Case. Activities, discoveries, and hands-on creations come together to offer an experience where festive spirit meets the ingenuity of the famous detective.

A festive show: Christmas Around the World

This year, the museum’s beloved holiday show returns with a new name—yet all the magic that makes it so popular remains. Set off on a journey to meet characters from around the globe, each sharing their own Christmas traditions, legends, and stories. Santa Claus, Saint Lucy, Melchior, and even Rico—the newest character created by Haitian author Marie-Denise Douyon—will guide you through a warm and enchanting tour of international holiday customs. (From December 26 to 30, 2025. Four 45-minute performances daily at 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.)

A creative workshop for the whole family

Step into the world of Sherlock Holmes with a collage workshop led by Elaine Fafard-Marconi. Using silhouettes inspired by the legendary detective and archival documents from the era, create your own piece—or a collaborative one—where art, history, and mystery blend together. This activity is simple, accessible, and perfect for sparking the imagination. (From December 27 to 30, 2025, and from January 2 to 3, 2026, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.)

A magical outdoor setting

Until January 5, 2026, Place Royale is adorned with irresistible Victorian charm. Sparkling trees, wooden cottages, and cozy seating areas surrounded by old-world décor will immerse you in the holiday spirit right in the heart of Old Montréal. Special thanks to Chantal Royer for these beautiful installations!

The holiday programming of Pointe-à-Callière is presented with the support of the SDC Vieux-Montréal as part of the Programme de soutien à l'offre culturelle du Vieux-Montréal.
