HolidayActivitiesatChâteauRamezay
Château Ramezay is transformed this winter with sumptuous decorations and a festive program to delight the whole family.
Château Ramezay invites visitors of all ages to experience the magic of holiday traditions from years past with its exhibition Autour du foyer... Traditions du temps des fêtes, presented from December 6 to January 4. In the warm atmosphere of this historic site, guests are invited to rediscover the origins of many beloved holiday customs through beautifully decorated fireplace mantels, each dedicated to an iconic theme: greeting cards, Christmas stockings, Advent calendars, and more.
Throughout the visit, a variety of immersive activities enrich the experience:
- Pick up your Christmas stocking – Well-behaved children can leave with their own stocking filled with surprises.
- Family experience “Autour du foyer” – A free booklet guides young visitors with objects to find, stories to uncover, and little missions to complete along the way.
- Interpretation stations – Volunteer guides offer live demonstrations about the fur trade and quill-pen calligraphy.
- Historical costume photos – Dress up in historical costumes and capture a unique souvenir photo.
Workshops and activities are offered on the weekends of December 6–7, 13–14, and 20–21, and then daily from December 26 to January 4, except on December 24, 25, 31 and January 1. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This festive visit is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with old-fashioned holiday traditions, create family memories, and explore Québec’s history in one of Montréal’s most beautiful heritage sites.
