MOMENTAxFonderieDarling
A living work that bridges territory, ecology, and social struggle.
Since 2020, Rosa Luxemburg Resistant Herbarium by artist Paula Valero Comín has taken root in various cities, adapting to each territory it visits. In Montréal, this evolving work becomes a sensitive and engaged atlas, weaving connections between local plants and the stories of women involved in protecting life.
In collaboration with communities, Valero Comín creates a map that is simultaneously botanical, emotional, and political, revealing often invisible forms of resistance. Each selected plant is paired with a committed female figure, forming a genealogy that ties together ecology and social activism.
Presented as part of MOMENTA Contemporary Art Biennale, in partnership with Fonderie Darling, this exhibition invites us to rethink our relationship with urban nature through a poetic exploration of the links between biodiversity and civic engagement.
