With the aim of providing the local community and visitors with welcoming spaces conducive to relaxation and good neighbourliness, the SDC Vieux-Montréal has set up professionally designed and maintained pétanque courts for the duration of the summer season at two strategic locations in the district. These are available to anyone wanting to come and practice their shooting and pointing, whether with family, friends or among colleagues.

The first site, featuring a total of 8 double courts, is located across from the Marché Bonsecours along De la Commune Street, just east of Place Jacques-Cartier. The second site, featuring a single court, is located in the heart of the Cité du Multimedia, in Éphémère Park, which is set up by the SDC Vieux-Montréal every summer in collaboration with Hydro Québec.
