Since 2014, the SDC Vieux-Montréal continues its efforts to beautify the historic district throughout the summer season. The Beautification project is a large-scale initiative featuring over 200 Versailles planters, 4,500 plants and more than 50 varieties of vegetation.

“This isn’t a simple flower-planting operation, it’s a mission: one of making the neighbourhood welcoming, alive, dynamic,” says Émilie Guay-Tardif, Field Projects Manager for the SDC Vieux-Montréal, who coordinates all partners on the ground.

Maintained and watered daily, these floral installations bring a special touch of colour and beauty to the old quarter all summer long, perfectly complementing its architectural charm. This ambitious project continues to blossom season after season. Since its launch, the number of planters and flower boxes has increased by 65%, reflecting the growing scale of the program and the collective commitment to beautifying the neighborhood.
