Entertainment and cultural activities in the district for the 19th edition of Montréal en Lumières.

Misc – Phi Centre

If the trio of Quebec-based musicians forming Misc (formerly known as Trio Jérôme Beaulieu, Radio-Canada’s 2013-2014 Jazz Revelation) hail from the jazz tradition considering their vocabulary and the importance of improvisation throughout their music, they are clearly not limited to it with regards to their artistic direction, flirting mainly with pop and rock music.

Raveen – Phi Centre

Raveen is a band situated at the crossroads of acoustic and electronic music traditions, with emotional and organic songwriting augmented by modern production and sound design. Drawing from a diverse spectrum of influences, vocalist/producer Eric Seguin, bassist/producer Stokely Diamantis and drummer Peter Colantonio have been performing their distinctively dynamic and captivating live shows since 2015.

Die Pod Die – Phi Centre

The philosophy behind Die Pod Die is simple: give the music its rightful due by attentively listening to albums, in their entirety, on vinyl, using a quality hi-fi system. At each session, two albums with a special link are spotlighted, enabling participants to appreciate each one as a carefully thought out and coherent work.

Daniel Taylor, The path to Paradise – Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel

Hear the pure voices of the Theatre of Early Music in a program of choral works that convey the sufferings of life and death and a vision of paradise beyond. Pärt, Tavener, Byrd, and Sheppard are featured in this compelling evening of a cappella masterpieces.

Collectif Kohlenstoff – Phi Centre

Kohlenstoff is a Montreal-based artist collective and a label. It features composers who explored the uncharted territories of unusual music. To date the label has already issued 30 albums by a dozen composers, principally living in Montreal, but also in various other countries—England, Poland, Argentina, Israel and the United States.

Kae Sun – Phi Centre

Born in Accra, Ghana, Kae Sun’s travels have taken him all around the world. During his peregrinations Kae has shaped his original while reassuringly familiar breed of African alternative music drawing on a large array of influences from synth-pop and indie folk to contemporary R&B and afrobeat.

From February 22 to March 4, some of the district’s best restaurants invite you to celebrate the 19th edition of Montréal en Lumières. The chefs have ramped up their creative efforts to please your senses by exposing you to a plethora of culinary experiences.

Helena and Florence K

Two great artists get together for one exceptional evening at Helena. On February 28, Helena Loureiro welcomes Florence K to her fine restaurant. A singer, writer and radio host, the free-spirited Florence K is the perfect partner in crime for our passionate chef Helena. All the ingredients are in place for a delightful evening filled with sunny flavours and enticing aromas. The perfect way to warm up your winter!

Charcuterie workshop… with vino and Cristian Broglia – Hambar

The chefs take over the dining room for a cooking class with the renowned Cristian Broglia, Chef Ambassador of ALMA, International School of Italian Cuisine until recently run by the late maestro, Gualtiero Marchesi! Creating an interactive environment, the chefs will open up their recipe books, sharing some of their best-kept secrets. Participants will cook, gather together and taste a variety of charcuterie, naturally, accompanied by the finest Italian wines!

Deli-cious Italy – Hambar

Did you know that charcuteries were invented long ago—way before fridges were around—in order to preserve meat? Today, charcuterie making is considered an art form, and at Hambar, it is our passion. Therefore, we decided to team up with SalumiAmo to offer you a decadent deli platter, courtesy of renowned chef Cristian Broglia, an ambassador of ALMA, Gualtiero Marchesi’s international school of Italian cuisine. A variety of Italian wines and cocktails will be served to complement the tasting.

Seafood testing meal – Ikanos

Ikanos’ classic dishes will be featured on these fine festival evenings. You’ll get to taste 10 different dishes in a five-course menu filled with succulent seafood. The meal will be made up of a multitude of mezzes, to be enjoyed in a spirit of sharing. Come one, come all!

Serata Bollicine ! Champagne evening – Graziella

Graziella invites you to an effervescent evening with the president of Pol Roger champagnes, Mr. Laurent d’Harcourt. The event includes a workshop on champagne and a menu découverte paired with the finest cuvées from the Pol Roger house.
